FRIENDS OF THALATTA

Thalatta needs constant maintenance and attention to keep her in a seaworthy and safe condition and the East Coast Sail Trust needs assistance, both financial and practical. By becoming a 'Friend' you will be helping to support the upkeep of the Barge, also you will receive regular newsletters updating you with the Trust's and Barge's activities.
As a Friend you will receive priority invitations to visit the Barge when she is open at Maldon, Woodbridge, St Katherine's Dock (London), and other various locations around the East Coast. You will also receive prior notice for the opportunity to sail on the Barge. Day sails are arranged at various times during the season (April to September), and there are also occasional weekend sailing opportunities to and from London.
As well as your financial assistance, the Trust is always keen to hear from Friends who have skills which could be of use to the maintenance of the Barge and Trust. This could include a practical skill such as shipwrighting; or a willingness to help staff the Barge when she is open to the public.
As a charity, the East Coast Sail Trust is able to receive regular donations through a gift aid standing order which has the benefit of providing the trust with a refund of income tax at standard rate at no additional cost to you. You will receive tax relief at your highest marginal rate.
